I wrote Sea Longing while sitting at a table surrounded by dancing, roaring, sweating Cape Bretoners (and Cape Breton devotees) at a ceilidh in Ottawa at a Legion hall. For some reason I didn't feel like dancing so I sat down and this slow lament took hold of me - the words and tune came spilling out in no time, and when I got home the next day the harmonies came quickly too.

Here's a lead sheet. The chords are not exactly as written - use an ordinary tuning, but leave the high "b" and "e' strings open most of the time and it should work out.
